A lot of Churchgoers claim to believe God and believe in God.  Belief is necessary in order to be a Christian, but it is not sufficient.  In other words, you cannot please the Lord without believing Him, but believing alone is insufficient.  After all, even demons believe and tremble (James 2:19).  Becoming a king of The King may begin with believing, but it does not end with believing.  Belief lays the foundation for trust.  Kings of The King must trust, not just believe in The King!

In Deuteronomy 28, The Lord provides the children of Israel with “a sermon of preparation” for their new life in The Promised Land.  The words “today” and “this day” are used several times in this passage, meaning this message should be trusted each day it is read. “Today” includes right now, especially right now.
