A Memo from Pastor Suzette

SUBJ: “Lord, teach us to pray. . .” (Luke 11:1)

 

Did you know that God has provided everything we need to partner with Him to achieve His plans on the Earth? The Lord has given us prayer, the supernatural vehicle that enables us to communicate for Him. He has given us His Word, which acts as the power source of that prayer vehicle. He has given us a pattern through The Model Prayer (The Lord’s Prayer) that gives us a clear and orderly blueprint for our communications with Him.

 

Jesus gave us specific instructions we would need in order to pray “effective, fervent prayers.” The Model Prayer He gave us is relatively short, yet it contains six powerful sections the Lord wants us to use as we communicate with Him.

 

Each section of The Model Prayer found in Matthew 6 is vital to producing God’s plans in the Earth, because each covers a different area of concern.

 

SIX CATEGORIES OF THE MODEL PRAYER

 

1. Intimate Praise and Worship
“Our Father in Heaven, hallowed by Your Name.”
2. Praying God’s Will
“Your Kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
3. Praying for Your Needs
“ Give us this day our daily bread.”
4. Praying for Forgiveness
“And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.”
5. Praying for Protection
“And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil.”
6. Kingdom Praise and Worship
“For Yours is the Kingdom and the power and glory forever. Amen.”

 

Using this six-section model doesn’t dictate the length of our prayers. Using this model puts us in alignment with God’s prayer program and ensures that we cover everything that God is concerned about in our prayer sessions!
